Amaravati: With a firm resolve to showcase Tirupati as a prominent hub for temple tourism, Andhra Pradesh Government has accorded permission with a slew of incentives to certain star hotels proposals in the pilgrimage city, which attracts tourists from all over the world to the temple of Lord Venkateswara Rao on the Tirumala Hills.
“The recent decisions to increase the number of star hotels and the required transport infrastructure will certainly give a shot in the arm to make Tirupati a world-class tourism hub. All the famous temples at Sri Kalahasti and Kanipakam located in the area can be developed as a circuit to promote temple tourism in a big way,” Tours and Travel Association of Andhra (TTAA) president K Vijay Mohan told Bizz Buzz.
Under the new policy, the government is offering reimbursement of 100% net SGST for a period of 10 years or up to realisation
of 100% fixed capital investment, whichever is earlier, aAll other incentives as per the AP Tourism Policy 2024-29, which include: a. reimbursement of 100% of stamp duty for lease of land/ shed/ buildings, mortgages and hypothecations and 10% of Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) limited to Rs.10 crore being a Mega Tourism Project in five equal instalments.
